You have made your instruction manuals, but rather than use the QR code or direct link that is automatically generated you want to embed it on your own website. This tech tip shows you how.
Check out this example of an embedded project.
Embedding a Cadasio project onto your own website is extremely easy and very similar to embedding a Youtube video. The first thing you will need to do is create a project, then head to the dashboard, where you can open the project settings..
Ensure you are on the publish tab, and click Publish. The interface will change and you will see a QR code that has been generated, as well as a Public URL code and Embed Code. You have several options that are worth knowing if you intend to embed your project:
When a project is set to autostart, it will load straight away when the user goes to the page. If set to false, it will only load minimal information and wait for the user to click the play button to advance. This can be useful if you want to speed up your page load time.
Used to create your shareable URL. This will default to your project name however can be changed to make the URL something easier to understand and share.
Embed Width / Embed Height
If you know the size you wish the iFrame to be when embedded, put it in here. For best results, the aspect ratio should relate to a device you have created in your project. You can manually remove the height and width attribute if you prefer to control the size via your cascading style sheets (CSS) later on.
By default, anyone with the direct link or QR code can see your project. For a lot of people this is ideal if they are producing customer facing instructions. However if you want some more control over who can access the project then you can add a password. Tick password and type the password into the box. Now the viewer will be required to match that password otherwise they will not be able to view your project online. If you do not want a password, simply untick the checkbox.
When the viewer starts to load your project it will try and make it full screen. This can be especially useful if you have defined device properties. It is worth noting that this can be blocked by the end users security settings within their browser.
If you are happy with the options you have set then your embed code will follow this structure:
<iframe src='https://www.instructions.online/? Unique_ID- Tag' width=Width height=Height> <iframe>
Now you have your embed code, simply copy it and past it in to your website HTML. Please check out the example at the start of the page to see one in action.
